Ugandan football fans will be treated to an international double-header on Saturday as the national senior team and their juniors will both be in action at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
Before the senior side (the Cranes) take on Mauritania in the first leg of the 2015 Nations Cup pre-qualifiers, their juniors (the Cubs) will first entertain Rwanda’s junior Wasps at 2pm in the first leg of the 2015 U-17 Africa Championships qualifiers.
The Cubs coach, Mathias Lule, will rely on marauding wing backs in captain Andrew Okiring and left back Alex Komakech.
The pair were pivotal in the previous round against Seychelles. Okiring, who has struggled with malaria, was hugely optimistic this week telling local media that they will get a good result as the team has no injury worries unlike the previous round.
The game was switched from Friday to Saturday at the request of the local soccer governing body, Fufa, citing factors including financial costs, among others.
